From August 27 till September 7, 2012 the Laboratory of Food Analysis (UGent) will organize a workshop on the most important analytical methodologies for mycotoxin analysis for researchers from food and feed producing companies.
announcement
preliminary program
The 2nd prize for the best poster which was awarded on the occasion of the 32nd Mycotoxin Workshop in Copenhagen (Denmark, 14-16 June 2010) to Pieterjan Lenain for the poster “Synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers as an alternative clean-up strategy for ergot alkaloids” (co-authors José Diana Di Mavungu, Peter Dubruel, Johan Robbens, Carlos Van Peteghem and Sarah De Saeger).
The Mytox Happening aims to be a non-formal interactive afternoon on matters related to the different fields of the AOG. Different talks will be presented by PhD students and will be accessible to an audience of people with a different background.

The Sixth International Symposium on Hormone and Veterinary Drug Residue Analysis will be held at Ghent from Tuesday, 1 June to Friday, 4 June, 2010. Registration and a gettogether party will be on Tuesday, 1 June, 2010. The scientific program starts on 2 June, 2010 at the University Forum(Ufo), Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 33-35, 9000 Ghent.
final announcement
From Sunday, 22 November, 2009 until Thursday, 26 November, 2009 from 10h30 until 19h00 the 21st edition of the HORECA EXPO will be taking place in Flanders Expo in Ghent.
The Association Research Group MYTOX will also be present to give an overview of the current researchsubjects in hal 1 on stand 1743 of Food2Know.
The Association Research Group is a member of Food 2Know. It’s an organization that groups more than 30 research labs, spread out over five life science faculties, the National Institute for Agricultural & Fishery Research (ILVO) and the University Colleges. Food2Know is the preferred gateway for companies or ministries to get direct access to top experts or high tech equipment for routine analyses, scientific or business advice, or for elaborate research projects.
It’s worth to visit us!
Tuesday, 17 November, 2009 from 13h30 until 17h00 the “Day of the Research” will be taking place in “het Pand”, Onderbergen 1 in Ghent.
This exhibition is an initiative of the Ghent University Association. The Association Research Group “MYTOX” will also be present at this event.
In reference to the research on new analytical challenges two of our current researchsubjects will be presented:
- The development of a quick test for the detection of fumonisine: use of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs).
- The development of new analytical challenges on mycotoxins: analysis of masked mycotoxins.
Registration for this event is mandatory and can be executed through this link: http://dvo.augent.be/nl-be/registratie/59/registratie.aspx.
The program of the 4th edition “Day of the Research” includes:
13h30-16h00: Exhibition is open to visitors.
16h00: Trendwatcher Herman Konings shares his impressions with you.
17h00: Reception.
We are looking forward to meet you there.
The 1st of August 2009 the BOF Research Association Group launched a new project: the development of a new analytical challenge for the determination of masked mycotoxins. Conjugated mycotoxins are bounded to more polar substances like carbohydrates. These masked mycotoxins escape the established classic analytical techniques, therefore there is a need to develop a new technique. More information about this project is available on the page for researchgroups or by mailing to Marthe De Boevre.
